—June 11, 2025— A new survey from AI-powered brand platform Trax reveals that nearly half (46%) of consumers have already altered their shopping habits due to concerns over rising prices from new tariffs, planning significant cutbacks this summer. Shoppers are switching to cheaper brands, increasing discount store visits, and delaying major purchases.

“Consumers are already feeling the pinch due to tariffs, and keeping their budgets tighter than before,” said Brittany Billings, chief marketing officer at Trax. “Savvy brands will recognize that price wins over brand loyalty in this environment, so delivering quality, consistent products, incentivizing with bundles and discounts, and making sure you’re well-stocked in stores will be more important this summer than ever.”

The survey, conducted through Trax’s shopping rewards app Shopkick, polled over 7,000 American consumers.
