Our Global Payroll Manager role is a key leadership position within the HR team that reports to the VP, Total Rewards. The Global Payroll Manager will lead and manage all aspects of global payroll operations for our rapidly growing company and must be a strategic and tactical leader, with a track record of success. This position will drive timely, accurate, and compliant payroll, improving end-to-end processes, setting up new country payroll processing, and have the responsibility for managing global team members.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage and process semi-monthly multi-state and multi-country payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to a growing employee base consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Oversee international payroll processing of Trax affiliates globally, ensure payroll compliance and work closely with the local vendors and accountants on various accounting activities, including exempt and non-exempt payrolls, expense report reimbursement, monthly/quarterly accounting close activities, account maintenance and reconciliations, financial reporting and variance analysis.
  • Work with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure the processing of new hires, interns, co-op’s, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.
  • Audit payroll data on a regular basis; audit payroll reports and conduct quarter and year-end reconciliations.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of all payroll policies, objectives, and short/long-term planning.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour and reporting regulations.
  • Research and remain current on domestic and international wage and payroll regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner that will require detailed explanation or interpretation using extensive knowledge of established guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Develop strong cross functional processes and relationships with groups including Human Resources and the greater Finance team.
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.
  • Work closely with our Stock Admin team to ensure timely stock compensation and tax reporting.
  • Prepare payroll reports for 401K, HSA and FSA.
  • Assist with preparing payroll journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor timesheet submission as needed to ensure timely payroll processing.
  • Register for state IDs for withholding, unemployment insurance, etc. as needed.
  • Monitor and submit state reporting requirements.
  • Review and process accurate year-end reporting, such as employee W-2s or similar countries’ requirements.
  • Compile information for reporting requirements, such as form 5500.
  • Process and reconcile benefit deductions, 401K, GRSP and 401K/GRSP on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile medical, dental, vision and voluntary life deductions between payroll systems and benefit reports.
  • Lead periodic employee training around payroll and tax matters.
  • Manage annual 401k audit process.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 5+ years experience managing global payroll systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Accounting, Finance or related work experience.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Payroll Professional certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of 401K processing and compliance.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and regulations spanning multiple states.
  • Experience with Paylocity, Netsuite and Workday preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and related federal and state labor regulations, including payroll tax regulations.
  • Experience implementing new payroll, onboarding, and/or HRIS solutions.
